Couleecap Business Retail Incubator

The Couleecap small business incubator is intended to provide opportunities with reduced barriers for low-income, BIPGM (Black, Indigenous or People of the Global Majority)-owned, and women-owned entrepreneurs to successfully develop their businesses to become self-sustaining and growing enterprises in the region.

The incubator will provide affordable retail space in downtown La Crosse for 8-10 vendors for a 12 month timeframe. A Couleecap employee will be available to vendors for technical assistance and additional training and education opportunities will be provided to the vendors and other local businesses.
The store will be operated by collaborative vendor participation. Each vendor must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week and no less than one weekend per month. General store hours will be Thursday and Friday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Rent will be based on a 12-month graduated fee structure as follows:
There will also be a small monthly fee to cover basic store items such as shopping bags, tissue paper, receipt paper, cleaning supplies, etc. that is not included in the monthly rent. |
